Grandmother aka Mrs Jones. During World War Two she was stationed in Kent with the British Air force as a cook. 'The sky would go black even on a sunny day when hundreds of bombers came over on their way to Germany. Ooh it used to be frightening,' she said many years later to her eldest grandson.
