The cafe owner Abdurrahman, seen here on the left, lost his original business to the tsunami disaster on December 26, 2004. But that's not all he lost. His eldest son and stepdaughter were also taken from him - washed away by the surging waves. But sometimes where there is despair there is hope. They left behind a baby daughter, Lisa Saffrina, who's now in the care of Abdurrahman and his wife, Ummi Kasum. And it is through their granddaughter they reach their son. One day they hope Lisa will inherit the family business.
In the aftermath of the disaster, Oxfam helped the family pay for merchandise to stock the business as part of a livelihoods program in Aceh. Hundreds of families have benefited this way because of Oxfam's work.
