After ten years of marriage Abida, 25, and Ali Murad, 35, celebrate the birth of their first child, a boy called Mithal. Like millions of people in Sindh, Abida and Ali fled the floods that swept across their land. Heavily pregnant Abida and her husband walked over five kilometres to reach the safety of a school in Sukkur, which is now home to 2,000 flood-affected people.
Ali, formerly a rice farmer, is happy to be a father. “Me very happy. I want my son to grow up and to have the education.”
