The towers of magnetic termites are found nowhere else on earth but Australia. Because magnetic termites are extremely sensitive to climate changes they need a constant temperature to survive. Perfectly aligned north to south to keep internal temperatures at a termite friendly 30 degrees, each mound is home to hundreds of thousands of termites. At the bottom of each reside the king and queen termite, while up top there's a cemetery.

Magnetic termites use the earth's magnetic field to align their towers.
